Welcome to Misty Meadows Dachshunds, an accredited breeder of longhaired dachshunds nestled in the beautiful Lockyer Valley, Queensland. We raise our puppies in a loving family home on 300 acres, giving them plenty of room to play and thrive.
Our focus is on healthy, happy dachshunds with wonderful temperaments, and we’re committed to carefully matching each puppy with the perfect forever family.

HEALTH + GENETIC TESTING
All of our breeding dogs are genetically tested through Orivet. We conduct key breed health tests including Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), as well as additional testing for MPS, NCL, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and SDMD.

GETTING READY FOR HOME
From as early as 3 weeks, our puppies begin gentle crate and toilet training to give them the best start before joining their forever families. This early preparation makes the transition to your home much smoother.
3-4 Weeks
Puppies move from the whelping box into playpens (crates) and start on milk and biscuits.
4-5 Weeks
We begin toilet training routines, helping them learn consistency and confidence.
Ongoing
Puppies are gently introduced to structure, comfort, and positive experiences in their crate, setting the foundation for a happy, well adjusted companion.

At Misty Meadows, we specialise in Creams, Dapples & Chocolates. Each dachshund we raise is bred for strong, correct structure, long and healthy coats, and bright, affectionate personalities.
Breeding is Janelle’s full time passion, she is home with the puppies every day, ensuring they receive round the clock care, early training, and plenty of cuddles. With hands on attention from the very beginning, our puppies grow into confident, well adjusted companions ready for their forever homes.
Every dam and sire is genetically tested through Orivet to ensure the best possible health and quality, so you can feel confident your new puppy has had the very best start.
